Appointments

Urgent Appointment

Urgent appointments are available on the same day and are triaged (under the instruction of the doctors) by our friendly highly trained reception team and are based on medical need.

If you have an urgent medical problem, please call at 8am for a same day appointment. Please note as this is an on-the-day service you must be available to attend when the clinician is available.

Routine Appointment

Routine non-urgent GP appointments have an average waiting time of one to two weeks. Once you have a routine appointment arranged you have the option of joining the cancellation list if you wish, you may be contacted at short notice to attend, please ask the receptionist for more details.

All GP/Nurse appointments are 10-15 minutes in duration, please consider this when you attend, multiple health concerns cannot be accommodated in a single appointment. Your allotted time is strictly for the named patient booked into the appointment.

Please arrive in good time to allow for parking and check in. If you are late for your appointment you will be asked to reschedule. Missed appoinments are recorded and repeated episodes may result in removal from our practice list.

You must arrive prior to your appointment time. Appointments are 10 -15 minute in duration. If you are late you will be asked to reschedule, if you are just 5 minutes late this is in fact 50% of your allocated slot.

We are contactable through email, gram.cultsadministrator@nhs.scot. This email is not constantly monitored and as such must not be used to request appointments/results/prescriptions. It is for administrative tasks only such as change of address, telephone number, consent to share medical information. Please do not submit photographs or blood pressure readings to this email address unless you are instructed to do so by the practice.

Extended Hours

We offer remote early morning and evening appointments at the practice, please ask a member of the reception team for more information.

Telephone Consultations

If you prefer a telephone consultation with the doctor, please ask reception at the time of booking.

If you have a query for a member of the doctor/healthcare team, please telephone reception early in the day.  We will do our best to respond within 24 hours.

Home Visits

Home Visits requests are triaged by the doctors and are available for housebound patients only, whenever possible please call the Practice before 9am if you require a home visit.

Your GP may telephone you in the first instance, and will arrange a visit for you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

If you are unable to attend an appointment, please give the practice at least one hour's notice, less than this will result in non-attendance being recorded, repeated episodes may result in removal from our practice list.

If you need help when we are closed

If you require urgent medical attention please call NHS24 on 111 for advice. Alternatively if you have a Medical Emergency please call 999.

NHS24 operates from 6pm to 8am Monday to Friday and 6pm on Friday to 8am Monday.

If you phone the surgery out-of-hours, you will be given the number to call for NHS24.  Access to NHS24 can also be obtained from their website at: http://www.nhs24.com

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Training Practice

We are proud to be training practice for both medical and nursing students. You may be asked to have a student present during your consultation or indeed be seen initially by them followed by the doctor.  Remember you have the right to say no if you wish to. This will in no way affect the care which you will be given.
